The Themis Summit Series will be a comprised of various scientific symposiums, conferences, and legal proceedings addressing the broad spectrum of human sociocultural concerns regarding human sexuality and reproduction factors applied to space environments. In Greek mythology, Themis was the wise and fair goddess of justice, order, and law. She was often depicted in art and literature holding the scales of justice and a sword – imagery which has persisted in modern representations of the concept of justice in Western civilization. 

The Themis summits will vary in size and purpose, addressing and developing standards for ethics, policy and legal development pertaining to human reproductive/sexual health and related civil rights in off-Earth environments.  Themis gatherings will also provide peer review processes to ensure research conducted by ASRI and other entities on sexuality and reproduction factors in space adheres to clearly defined ethical, medical, and legal safety standards.​​​​
