Mission Series:  Hera

Sicut In Terra, Sic In Caelis --

"As on Earth, so in the Heavens”

The Hera Mission Series is designed to.......

Eileithyia was the Greek Goddess of Childbirth and Protection of the Newborn.  Hera is a nod to the legacy of NASA's Human Research Program (HRP) Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) facility in Houston, Texas.

ASRI's Cosmouse missions will examine each stage of mammalian gestation in Low Earth Orbit spaceflight, culminating with the launch of MICEHAB, a NASA-conceived orbital rodent colony that will allow scientists to observe the impacts of long-term exposure to microgravity and Galactic Cosmic Radiation to mammalian reproductive health over the course of multiple generations.  These experiments will take crucial steps in determining safe and viable parameters for human reproduction in space environments in the coming decades.
