​​Though not ASRI-sponsored missions, the ARTIS Mission Series – conceived and developed by one of ASRI’s collaborative partner organizations (SpaceBorn United Inc.) – will focus on application of clinical IVF biotechnology in microgravity environments, employing Assisted Reproductive Technology in Space (ARTIS).  Earlier ARTIS missions will attempt in-orbit IVF fertilization and development of mouse embryos, with follow-on experiments using human embryos to validate the possibility of IVF-driven conception in space.
