Mission Series: Aphrodite

Divinum Femininum Inter Astra -- “Divine Femininity Among the Stars”

The Aphrodite Mission Series will consist of experiments addressing female reproductive health factors in space environments. Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love, beauty, desire, pleasure and fertility. She was lover to a number of both gods and mortals, and the mother of Eros, the Greek god of love (also known as Cupid in Roman mythology). Aphrodite was considered to be the most beautiful of all beings and the ultimate representation of divine femininity, and has been the subject of countless works of literature and art.
Future Aphrodite missions will include experiments which examine how the spaceflight environment impacts the female reproductive system, fertility, sexual response, hygiene, hormones and other key areas of sexual health and wellbeing. Findings from the Aphrodite series will help our species develop necessary solutions and/or countermeasures to any identified challenges, in order to protect and optimize female reproductive health for the future, both in space and on Earth.
